How does a mini-split compare to a central unit?Updated 9 months ago

Mini-splits are considerably more energy-efficient than most ducted central A/C systems, thanks to their technology, which allows the system to dehumidify much better.

They can operate in extreme weather conditions. Since they serve individual rooms, each zone can be set to different temperatures and can be turned off if not needed.

Unlike central units, there is no ductwork, so there are no duct losses when delivering heating or cooling from one location to another through unconditioned attic spaces or crawl spaces.
